Saporita’s Story
What began as a mother’s search for a gentle soap became a lifelong craft.
Thirty years ago, Colleen Clark began making her own soap for her two children who had sensitive skin. Unable to find products that felt truly clean, nourishing, and safe, she decided to learn the craft herself. What started out of necessity slowly grew into a deep and lasting passion.
Over the years, Colleen refined her skills through patience and experimentation—working with natural recipes, essential oils, and ingredients grown right in her own backyard garden and greenhouse. Her work has always been rooted in intention, care, and respect for the land.
Now in retirement, Colleen is sharing what she’s been lovingly creating for decades. Each Saporita Scents product is handcrafted in small batches using organic, garden-grown ingredients whenever possible—soaps, candles, and other natural goods designed to be gentle, grounding, and honest.

Origins
At the heart of our products is Colleen’s own greenhouse and garden, where many of the herbs and botanicals are grown by hand and harvested in small batches. Each plant is nurtured naturally, allowing time and seasonality to shape its quality. Ingredients that aren’t grown on-site are sourced locally whenever possible, supporting nearby growers and makers who value sustainable practices. This close-to-home approach ensures every product is made with fresh, thoughtfully chosen ingredients and a strong connection to the land and community.
